As of August 2024, the TSA process for any foreign pilot seeking flight training has changed. It was a big revision and I think most pilots will be very happy with the changes.

Here’s some of the key points:

• Verification process only once every 5 years
• pay fee only once every 5 years
• once verified, you will be moved to eligible status
• pilots can then choose as many training providers as needed
• no limit on number of training events for the 5 year period
• the training provider will need to create all training events

Because of the big changes, every pilot needs to start a new verification process and it has been taking anywhere from 30-60 days to get verified.
