CE-500 INITIAL PIC CREW TYPE RATING
The CE-500 Initial PIC Crew Type Rating adds a CE-500 Type Rating to a pilot’s existing certificate. This allows the holder to act as pilot in command of all Citation 500 series aircraft (see all aircraft types covered by the CE-500 Type Rating below). Our course consists of a comprehensive ground school, flight training and prep for the oral and practical test. All training is personalized to your individual needs and skill level. Tasks to be demonstrated are defined in the ATP Type Rating Practical Test Standards for multi engine airplanes.
All flight training is conducted in aircraft. You have the option to lease one of our CE-500 aircraft at one of our training centers (make selection on Request a Quote Form) or training can be conducted in your aircraft. At Florida Flight Center, we realize everyone has their Citation 500 series set up the way they like it. Therefore, training in your aircraft will prepare you to fly your specific set up and achieve mastery of your aircraft. In addition, our instructors have vast experience flying Citations and can provide you with real world scenarios. Your instructor can either travel to your location and conduct training at your home base or you can travel to one of our training locations.
The CE-500 Type Rating requires a checkride conducted by an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). We work with several DPE’s throughout the country that can conduct your checkride. Depending on where your training is conducted, we will match you with the best DPE option available. Learn more on what to expect from the flight exam and how to reduce test-day nerves.
You can complete the CE-500 Type Rating Training Course in as little as 5 days. After you complete the course, your pilot certificate will be reissued with the CE- 500 Type Rating. You can also learn more about adding the CE-500 Single Pilot Exemption (see below) that will allow you to fly any model of the CE-500 series alone, without the hassles and expenses of a crew. If you’re not sure if your CE-500 aircraft requires an exemption to fly single pilot, learn more about the difference between FAR Part 23 vs Part 25 aircraft.
