Florida Flight Center – Over 25 Years of Excellence

Florida Flight Center (FFC) is a well-established flight training facility that has provided exceptional pilot training for over 25 years. Our instructors are professional pilots with thousands of hours of flight and teaching experience, ensuring the highest standards of safety and proficiency.

Instructor Prerequisites

All FFC instructors meet rigorous requirements:

  • Valid Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP)
  • CFI-I and MEI-I certificates
  • Current First or Second Class Medical
  • Specific jet type rating (jet division)
  • Minimum 50–100 hours of experience in the make and model aircraft

Specialization in In-Aircraft Training

FFC specializes in in-aircraft training, a method many pilots find offers a higher level of safety and practical experience. This approach is particularly beneficial when training in aircraft with significant avionics modifications often seen in the used market, such as the Citation 501 with dual GTN 750s.

Supplemental Training Tools

To enhance the learning experience, FFC incorporates supplemental tools including:

Simulation

Training devices

Interactive presentations

This combination ensures pilots gain both theoretical and practical mastery.

Ground School

Our syllabus includes 16–24 hours of comprehensive ground school prior to flight training. Zoom instructor-led options are available for home study prep, allowing students to build a foundation before their start date.

Ground school covers:

  • Aircraft limitations
  • Aircraft systems
  • Use of checklists
  • Crew resource management
  • Flight profiles

Through chapter quizzes and instructor feedback, students ensure mastery before advancing to flight training.

Ground School

Flight Training

Flight training begins with simulators or specific training devices for avionics familiarization, including Garmin, Universal, Avidyne, Collins, and Honeywell systems. Pilots then transition to in-aircraft cockpit procedures training, learning flows and checklist management.

Pre-Flight Briefing:

Before each flight, instructors review the maneuvers, common mistakes, and expectations for success.

In-Flight:

Maneuvers safely performed in aircraft include:

  • Engine failures at rotation (V1 cuts)
  • Steep turns
  • Stalls
  • Unusual attitudes
  • Emergency descents
  • Precision and non-precision approaches
  • Circling approaches

Post-Flight Briefing:

Each session concludes with a review of strengths and opportunities for improvement.

*All training is conducted one-on-one and tailored to the pilot’s experience level.

Checkride Standards

During all checkrides, the examiner follows FAA Form 8410. All maneuvers can be performed safely in the aircraft, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and insurance requirements.
