CE-510 PIC TYPE RATING
The Citation Mustang Initial Type Rating Training Course adds the CE-510 Type Rating to a pilot’s existing certificate. This allows the holder to act as pilot in command of the Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft. Our course consists of a comprehensive ground systems review, flight training and prep for the oral and practical test. All training is personalized to your individual needs and skill level. Tasks to be demonstrated are defined in the ATP Type Rating Practical Test Standards for multi engine airplanes.
All flight training is conducted in aircraft. Training is conducted in your aircraft. You have the option to lease a Mustang at our training centers (make selection on Request a Quote Form) or we offer the convenience of training on site at your home base, in your aircraft. Training in your aircraft will prepare you to fly your specific set up and achieve mastery of your aircraft. In addition, our instructors have vast experience flying the Cessna Citation Mustang and can provide you with real world scenarios.
The CE-510 Type Rating requires a checkride conducted by an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE). The Citation Mustang is certified under Part 23 and can be operated single pilot. You have the option to take the checkride to single pilot standards or crew. Successful completion of the checkride to single pilot standards will earn you the CE-510(S) Type Rating. If crew is elected, “SIC Required” will be added to limitations on the back of your pilot certificate. Learn more on what to expect from the flight exam and how to reduce test-day nerves.
CE-510 RECURRENT TRAINING
This course consists of a two day aircraft systems review, followed by one day of flight training in preparation for the 61.58 PPE (pilot proficiency exam) administered by an FAA Designated Examiner. Tasks to be demonstrated are the same as in the CE-510 Type Rating Course, as per the ATP Practical Test Standards for multi engine airplanes.
*Upgrade to Single Pilot – note if you have previously taken your checkride to crew standards and have the “SIC Required” limitation on your pilot certificate, this is an excellent opportunity to upgrade to the CE-510(S) Type Rating. The Citation Mustang is certified under Part 23 and can be flown single pilot. To remove the “SIC Required” limitation you will simply need to pass the checkride to single pilot standards.
CE-510 SIC TYPE RATING
The CE-510 Second in Command Type Rating training course adds a CE-510 Type Rating to a pilot’s existing certificate. Therefore allowing the holder to act as Second in Command of the Cessna Citation Mustang aircraft.

At completion of this course your pilot certificate will be reissued with the CE-510 Type Rating with “Second in Command Privileges Only” listed under limitations. When you’re ready, you can upgrade to the CE-510 PIC Type Rating.
